Nearly two dozen soldiers injured at Camp Shelby

Several injuries were reported on Wednesday during a training operation at Camp Shelby.

The post's public affairs director said 22 soldiers were injured after jumping out of an aircraft. Some of the soldiers were blown off course and landed in pine trees. Soldiers were entangled in tree branches and had to be rescued.

More than 600 soldiers with the 4th Brigade Combat Team 25th Infantry Division from Anchorage, Alaska, were participating in the exercise.

Seven of the injured were transported to a local hospital. The remaining 15 were treated on the scene. None of the soldiers' injuries are life-threatening, Camp Shelby's public affairs director said.
