One-percent sales tax could be coming to Hattiesburg
HATTIESBURG, MISS. - Governor Phil Bryant has signed into law a bill that would allow the City of Hattiesburg to levy a one-percent sales tax increase to help fund renovations to USM's Reed Green Coliseum, along with improvements at some city parks. The additional tax involves motels and restaurants. Hattiesburg officials say the bill will have to be put to a vote with a 60% majority needed for approval.
