Fatal House Fire on East 5th Street

HATTIESBURG, MISS. - A Hattiesburg man died in a house fire just before midnight Thursday. Firefighters responded to a fully evolved house fire in the 1000 block of East 5th Street. Firefighters made entry into the house through the back door and found the victim lying on the floor. Officials say there was no immediate sign of foul play, but the investigation continues. The body of the unidentified victim has been taken to the state crime lab for an autopsy.
