Hattiesburg Police Department Swears in Four More Officers
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - At 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 1, Mayor Toby Barker and Chief Anthony Parker swore in four additional police officers for Hattiesburg Police Department at City Hall.
Barker issued the oath to the following:
Darius Brown, 27, coming to HPD from Mendenhall Police Department. Brown is also a member of the Mississippi National Guard and serves as a Specialist E-4.
Antonia Conley, 27, coming to HPD from University Police at Southern Miss. He has prior experience with Columbia Police Department and also serves as an E-5 with the Mississippi National Guard.
Shawnasty “O’Brien” Extine, 24, coming to HPD with his law enforcement certification earned from Southern Regional Public Safety Institute (SRPSI).
Devion White, 27, coming to HPD from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department. White served in the Army for four years and is currently a member of the inactive reserves for the Army with a rank of E4.
These transfers bring the police department numbers to 99, and they will report to the training academy following the ceremony to begin their three-week refresher training course.
