PRVEPA releases helpful tips for its members
(The following is a press release from Pearl River Valley Electric Power Association.)
Pearl River Valley Electric Power Association is asking its members to reduce their electric use this morning if possible. Extreme cold weather is placing serious demand on the electric grid throughout the southeastern United States.
Reducing electric use now is necessary in order to help avoid a power supply emergency. Members should minimize the use of electric appliances such as ovens and clothes washers and dryers. Set home thermostats as low as possible.
More information will be released as needed.
(PRVEPA adds its offices will be closed Wednesday. However, dispatchers are on duty; crews will be available to respond to any outages.)
