Community Crisis Coalition offers financial assistance for tornado victims

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Community Crisis Coalition held a public meeting Wednesday at the C.E. Roy Community Center to help those who were affected by the January tornado.

The Community Crisis Coalition is offering financial assistance on a first come, first serve basis, and will find new homes for people who are in need.

Community Crisis Coalition member, Derrian Moye said, "This is a great day in Hattiesburg. It's a great day in our community. I was crying earlier when I was thinking about how many lives are actually going to be changed. I'm not a politician, and there are a lot of people I meet every single day that are struggling. Families that are struggling. And, to hear what they go through is heartbreaking. So, this is finally an opportunity that we can actually serve these people, and that's what we're going to continue to do. Starting today, we're going to serve the people that need it the most."

If you are interested in contacting the Community Crisis Coalition for financial assistance, that number is (601) 255-3601.
