Fatal car crash, 2 dead

JONES COUNTY, Miss. - A tragic vehicle accident took the lives of two Jones County women and critically injured a man. Friday afternoon, Boggy, South Jones and Southwest Jones Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the scene of the one vehicle rollover on Highway 588 about 8 miles outside of Ellisville. When firefighters and Emergency Medical Responders, along with EMServ medics arrived on scene, they found a heavily damaged passenger car lying on its roof to the side of the road. The adult male driver was transported by EMServ ambulance to South Central Regional Medical Center with what was believed to be life threatening injuries.

Although the cause of the accident is unknown, a witness stated that the vehicle left the roadway, struck a culvert and began flipping head over heels approximately 30 feet in the air before coming to rest on its roof. Jones County mourns the loss of these two individuals and shares in the sorrow with family and friends.
