3-game losing streak comes to an end for Southern Miss

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss had themselves an impressive game Thursday night as they defeated Marshall, 91-76.
Five players scored in double-digits, which ultimately helped them put the Thundering Herd away.
Guard, D’Angelo Richardson said, "We started getting a lot of calls. And we were playing like we played in practice, and everything was going good. Especially around that ten-minute mark. We were like as long as we keep this energy up, we got this."
The Golden Eagles trailed, 44-37 at halftime.
But, in the second half, the team gained momentum and could not be stopped.
"I think that stretch belongs to D-Lo (D’Angelo Richardson). He brought all the energy off the bench. And, once he started going, everyone else followed behind him," said forward, Eddie Davis.
Guard/forward, Quinton Campbell was one of those players, as he led all scorers with 24 points. 15 of those points came from beyond the arc.
"Every time I got the ball, I wanted to look to drive. But, they were helping off heavy. So, there was no need of forcing the issue. So, I felt like if you're going to let me shoot it, then I'm going to shoot it. Once I see one go in, that's all I need," said Campbell.
This may have been Southern Miss' most complete game in conference play.
"I couldn't be any more pleased with our guys, and just showing the toughness to come in here and get a win against guys maybe as good of an offensive team as there is in this league," said head coach, Doc Sadler.
Southern Miss will look to carry out this momentum into Saturday’s game against Western Kentucky.
Tipoff is at 4 p.m.
