USM men's basketball win 2 straight

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - After beating UTSA Thursday, Southern Miss was trying to ride that momentum Saturday and defeat UTEP.
Guard/forward, Quinton Campbell said, "We said we weren't going to look back, just trying to keep going and just continue to win."
The Golden Eagles were efficient on offense for majority of the game, and part of that was because of guard, Cortez Edwards.
Head coach, Doc Sadler said, "His anticipation and his feel for basketball is off the chart."
"I just took advantage of my opportunities. Basically, making plays when I can, but not try to force anything, just staying within the team concept," said Edwards.
Edwards scored 17 points. But, he was not the only person taking advantage of opportunities.
Campbell recorded his first career double-double by scoring 24 points and collecting ten rebounds.
"With a post-player guarding me, it opens me up and lets me drive and get to the whole. And, then that frees up my shooting, so I can knock down more shots," said Campbell.
The Golden Eagles defeated the Miners, 73-65 and have now won two-and-a-row.
"Now that we've had these two and we've got them, the next two are a must. Every game is a must win," said Campbell.
Southern Miss will travel to Old Dominion Thursday to try and make it three-and-a-row.
