Last three weeks are critical for Southern Miss

HATTIESBURG, Miss.- Southern Miss suffered a tough 38-27 loss to Charlotte Saturday.

The road to a conference championship is getting harder and harder. But, the Golden Eagles are remaining positive and confident going forward.

Head coach, Jay Hopson said, "Give Charlotte credit. They made the plays when they had to and certainly we did not have our best effort of the season. But, it's a tough one, it's a hard one to sit on."

"We know these last three weeks are critical weeks for our run, and we got to take it one at a time. This football team has everything to play for. There's a lot of teams right now in November that have no chance at winning a championship. But, we got to go to work. I don't know any other way to put it. We got to go to work and we got to get better, and we got to just do the little things right," said Hopson.

Southern Miss will play Old Dominion Saturday in Norfolk, VA.
