Coach Lee-McNelis looking for leaders to step up

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - With Caitlin Jenkins off the team, the Lady Eagles will be looking towards their guards for a lot of the scoring.

Last year, 71 percent of Southern Miss’s scoring came from guard play.

Head coach, Joye Lee-McNelis said, "We've got Jayla King coming back that had an outstanding year. Brittanny Dinkins that's one of our seniors on our squad this year that's really provided tremendous leadership. And then our point guard in Keri Jewett-Giles, that was a freshman last year that learned a lot. The three of them along with the young lady that had an injury last year was not able to play, in Megan Brown. Megan will be back and our other senior that's gained quality minutes in Lashyra Cotton.”

“They have got to provide some solid leadership for us in helping our team understand that we're going to do what's best for our team no matter what it is," said McNelis.
