Head coach, Joye Lee-McNelis is going to play small ball

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Lady Eagle basketball team looks a little bit different this year.

Head coach Joye Lee-McNelis shared her thoughts on the new changes she has to adapt with.

"Truly the smallest team I've ever coached in 25 years as a head coach. So therefore, I'm having to reach out outside of my box. I'm a believer of the high-low, but I've always had size to do that. So guess what? There's no high-low this year for the Lady Eagles. So we're playing a little bit with that because we've got to play five out. The three that I have that are six-footers are all players that can score off the bounce, so we have to take advantage of that," said McNelis.

"Am I a set-oriented coach? Indeed, but it's just so important when you're faced with some challenges, you got to change to get opportunities to be successful," said McNelis.
