Coach Dawson pleased with players stepping up on offense

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - After the recent breakout performance from Allenzae Staggers and all of the records broken against Rice, the Southern Miss offense looks pretty dangerous and has coaches pleased.
Offensive coordinator, Shannon Dawson said, "We needed people to step up and make plays because throughout the first few games, you can sit there and look at Ito (Smith) as a pretty good player. Ito's dependable, obviously we're going to do a lot of things to give him the ball, but you need more. I never thought of balance being 50/50. I've always thought of balance as being spreading the ball to a number of people to where people can't pinpoint who's going to get it or who's game plan to get it. The more people we can have step up and make plays, the harder it is on the defense."
Southern Miss plays UTSA Saturday night and there may be another player who steps up and make plays during that game.
