Coach Hopson loved the home-opener atmosphere

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss's home-opener was a success.
Southern Miss defeated Savannah State, 56-0.
Head coach, Jay Hopson was thrilled with not only his team's performance, but the fans, as well.
"It's always good to get a win. That's the reality. We'll enjoy this one today. It was good. I thought the guys played hard. I thought we did a lot of good things," said Hopson.
"It was a great atmosphere. It was a great environment. I had a lot of players and coaches coming in off the Eagle Walk and said that environment doesn't get any better anywhere in America. That's what we need week-in and week-out. Our fan support was tremendous and those guys feed on that," said Hopson.
Southern Miss will have a home game against Troy Saturday at 6 p.m.
