Hub-city parents behind bars after infant found dead, investigation continues

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Two parents are behind bars in connection to the death of their infant.
Police said the infant was found dead inside an apartment unit at the Rus-tique Apartments on 40th Avenue at 7:40 a.m. Monday morning.
According to Lt. Jon Traxler from the Hattiesburg Police Department Martina Fillingane, 40, and Robert Ashcraft, 40, were arrested and charged with felony neglect of a child.
He said, "Upon arrival police found a deceased infant."
Lt. Traxler said the infant's body was being sent to the state crime lab in Jackson for an autopsy.
The investigation is still ongoing.
