Local gymnasts inspired by the "Final Five"

PURVIS, Miss. - The United States women's gymnastics team completely dominated the Rio 2016 Olympics and have won gold.

Some local gymnasts are very inspired.

Local gymnast, Grace Hester said, "I think I try to emulate after all of them. But just by watching different videos and seeing their techniques and different things that they do, and trying to do my skills the way they do, because I know that I want mine to be like that too."

The “Final Five” were simply amazing in Rio and won by a record margin of eight points.

The local gymnasts loved watching every second of Team USA.

Candi Workman, Owner and president of In’Finite ArtSports said, "I feel like they're motivated a little more. They're inspired by what they're seeing, so they want to be like the ‘Final Five’."

Some of the gymnasts admire the same hero.

Local gymnast, Caroline Varnado said, "Simone Biles routines because she's just an inspiration."

"I think Simone Biles floor routine impresses me every time I watch it," said Hester.

Local gymnast, Hayden Harrod said, "Simone Biles because she really inspires me. I just want to be like her. I want to make it to the Olympics. I just want to try as hard as I can."

Workman is doing her best to make sure her gymnasts will hopefully be able to live out their dreams.

"We talk about the excitement of it, what it takes in order to get to that level. The hard work, dedication that it takes, and try to keep that inspiration going," said Workman.

Maybe we will see some of these local gymnasts competing in the Olympics in the future.
