Southern Miss is happy to have home-field advantage
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - After a devastating sweep the Golden Eagles endured against Florida International last week, the team is ready for this year's Conference USA Baseball Tournament.
Head coach, Scott Berry said, "We started yesterday and worked a couple times out, once in the morning and one in the afternoon. We had our hour practice today and felt like our guys are really focused and ready to begin this tournament."
"Certainly a pleasure to have it here. It's our home field, it's our home crowd. We're used to the surroundings, so I think certainty that's an advantage for us. People like having it here in Hattiesburg at Pete Taylor Park because it's well done by our university, by our community, and all those that support and volunteer to help us put on the best tournament, which I feel like is one of the best in college baseball, said Berry."
Southern Miss’s first game of the tournament will start on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
