HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Hattiesburg City Council is considering to purchase the former Saladmaster property on Hardy Street.
The council plans to demolish the recently burnt down building to landscape the area for aesthetic purposes.
City council president, Kim Bradley said, "It's been in poor shape for a long time. It is the entrance to the downtown area, the thought was we can buy the property, and create something more aesthetic to the eye."
If approved council members will buy the property for $54,000.
