National weather service confirms Pine Belt tornadoes

PINE BELT, Miss - The National Weather Service (NWS) confirms that multiple tornadoes hit the Pine Belt on Monday.

NWS sent two teams to evaluate the storm damage. A total of five tornadoes was the result.

Tornadoes touched down in Smith, Jasper, Walthall, and Simpson county damaging homes and uprooting trees.

The five tornadoes were determined to be EF-0, EF-1, and EF-2 in Simpson county.

No injuries were reported during Mondays severe weather.
