Schools in Mississippi receive bomb threats
HATTIESBURG, Miss - Several schools in Mississippi received bomb threats all across the state, including Hattiesburg High School.
Director of Communications of the Hattiesburg School District, Jas N Smith, says, "The staff made a determination that the threat was a local credibility threat. We then contacted the Police Department, and nothing was found."
The FBI released the following statement:
"The FBI is aware of the suspicious calls to several school systems throughout the state. We have contacted the affected jurisdictions and offered any assistance they might need to help them as they look into the situation. The cases are still local matters at this time."
Smith says the Hattiesburg Police Department is investigating yesterday's threat.
