First baby of the year at Forrest General Hospital

FORREST COUNTY, Miss - Fallon Hartfield, 27, from Perry County and Richard Jordan, 31, from Jasper County had their first baby girl this New Year.
Ri'on Pearl Jordan was born at 2:20 pm, she is 5 lbs and 19.5 inches long. Ri'on's nickname is Lucy after Hartfield's aunt who past away. Hartfield decided to nickname Ri'on, Lucy, because her aunts' birthday is today.
Hartfield says, "I am delighted, just overjoyed, just blessed that she made it safely...she is going to be a very active baby."
Although Ri'on Pearl Jordan is the first baby of the year to celebrate with the Pine Belt residents, Merit Health Wesley Hospital had their first baby early New Years morning.
Merit Health Wesley is not participating due to privacy and security issues implemented by the hospital.
